Aside from the couple of thunderstorms today was a great day on the water. I guided Bob and his son-in-law Zach on a full day float trip on the Tuckasegee Delayed Harvest. Zach just got in from the Australia and Bob is up from Jacksonville Fl. Both Bob and Zach ended the day with a Tuck Grand Slam and Zach got the ultimate slam by adding a smallmouth bass to the mix. The flow was low and was perfect for the couple of dozen wading anglers on the South River Rd. section. Hot flies of the day were the #8 Hot Head Marvin with a #12 Rainbow Prince dropper.
If you are looking to get away from the crowded areas South River Rd. try the North River Rd. section. Our guides have been reporting some high catch totals and big fish down in this area. Lookout for and respect all private property but remember as long as you can wade to it the river is open to everyone.
