Guided wade and float trips on the Tuckasegee River

Posted by on November 14, 2012

Hookers Fly Shop offers both wade and float trips on the Tuckasegee River year round.  During the winter months we float and wade the delayed harvest section of the Tuckasegee between Webster and Dillsboro, NC.  This area is home to plenty of wild rainbow and brown trout as well as 20,000+ stocked and holdover trout from the NC stocking program.  Every October, November, March, April and May the DH section of the Tuck receives close to 10,000 fish per stocking.  That is almost 50,000 fish per year, which helps make this river one of the most stocked streams in the Southeast.  The Tuckasegee is also considered one of the best smallmouth fisheries in the area.  Choose from wade or float trips for these hard fighting fish.  The best time to book these trips is between April and Oct.

Our guide service offers half, 3/4 and full day wade or float trips.  Call or email now to take advantage of our Nov./Dec. float trip special or our 2013 early booking special.  hookersflyshop@yahoo.com   828-587-4665
