Tuckasegee Fishing Report
The past few weeks have been producing some nice fish on the Tuckasegee River. We have had several wade and float trips that have put some nice fish in the net. Hot flies have been Little Black Stoneflies, Girdle Bugs, Hot Head Marvins, Eggs, Squirmy Worms, Guides Choice Hares Ear, Frenchies and various other nymphs. We have also had some good luck with various streamers including: wooly buggers, zonkers, muddlers and various articulated streamers. The delayed harvest section will receive it’s first spring stocking this week so the fishing will only get better. Be sure to check the generation schedules here. The delayed harvest section is usually wadeable in most areas if there is not a generation scheduled. It is also wadeable in some areas when one of the forks is generating but you should use extra caution when wading during a any release or high water.
